Shows Shows Shows

So this past year was really amazing, from C2E2 to Minneapolis Indie Xpo, it was a real break out year for Cuddlefish. Jake put in a whopping 20 shows this year. This has been a really inspiring year for us. With no more shows until next year, its back to the lab for us. Josh is about half of the way through Gross Grandpa #2, I am wrapping up Steve The Schnauzer #1 and The Carriers #4, and Jake is wrapping up colors on Zurg #1. I have two more projects in the works but I really don't want to talk about them too much before I really commit to getting it done.

So many cool life changing things have happened this year. I feel so lucky to be a part of Cuddlefish. Even as Cuddlefish changes and grows into whatever it is changing and growing into.

As upcoming conventions for 2012 get locked down, I will post them here. We have some high expectations for the next year so expect to see us at a whole bunch of new locations. Hoping for Toronto and New York to be added to the roster. Should be another year of firsts. Looking to get bigger than the Beatles in 2012!

24 Hour Comic Book Day

Oh the Caffeine! OH the sleep deprivation! I can admit to the fact that I totally wimped out at the last few hours and went home. I was able to get a ton of cool pages out though. Jake put together one hell of a cool story that went in a ton of fun directions. He better finish that book and sell it to his mob of fans. This guy... he is going to be super rich.

Josh showed up and showed off new pages to Gross Grandpa! #2. This stuff is fantastic. Its brave and over the top. I cannot stress the amazingness of the pages enough. He is hand lettering the whole book! He is using a ton of sound effects and cool design elements. I am super jealous and proud of him for going for it at the level he is. He really pushed the envelope... Then kicked it in the teeth and spit on it. Then laughed at it.

Kevin is racing to get the fourth issue of The Carriers done in time for his print deadline. Gross Grandpa #2 is underway as well. Some really cool concepts are being put together by Josh for that book. The funnest part of Gross Grandpa's production is underway as well- figuring out the jokes and gags!

Hey everyone C2E2 is over and We couldn't be more grateful for all the love and support that we got! Holly Crap! So many nice people!

So as some of you can tell this is a really new thing we are starting here at CuddleFish Comics. We are just getting our act together and are pulling together to make something special here. Jake is hard at work on some new pieces, Josh is writing the second issue of Gross Grandpa! and I am putting the hours in for the fourth issue of The Carriers

Cuddlefish Comics!

Hey peoples, this is the starting point of Cuddlefish Comics! The collective comic book team of Kevin D. Bandt, Josh Filer, and Jake Rueth. We are starting this as a way to group up and collaborate on the various comic book projects we are currently working on. Also expect new projects in the future including an anthology project.
